ABOUT THE COMIC
+EV is a poker comic that launched on August 11, 2006, and runs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The title stands for "positive expected value," a poker/gambling term meaning a play or bet that you can expect to make money on in the long run. It's a humor strip about a guy who quit his job to play online poker and how that affects his family life with his wife and young daughter. It's for big poker fans or people who know big poker fans! Many players have told me that their wives/girlfriends even like it more than they do, since a lot of the comics poke fun at the poker obsessed husband.
ABOUT THE WRITER
I started playing poker online in July of 2005 and I first planned on making a poker comic shortly after that. It was called "Drawing Dead" and would star zombies playing poker. One idea was to start the comic by killing off all the players at the final table of the World Series of Poker Main Event in some way (maybe a terrorist attack) and then have them rise from their graves in order to find each other and finish the tournament, entering casinos along the way to play poker and try to hide their deadness. I never really actively pursued starting up that comic because I thought it was a bit too crazy, but I might do it later sometime. I mostly play on Ultimate Bet as either Pupkin or PlusEV, and I also play quite a bit on PokerStars as Snagglefood.
