"Pair on board = possible fullhouse"
"90% of NL5 players are unbluffable"
"One players raises preflop, another one re-raises, third guy re-re-raises = 3rd guy has AA"

So he can't play cash games? You seriously think MTT only helps your varience? Explain that one for me...even if its just for this character.

Um, did you notice the post-it that says he's up $83,000 in tourneys for 2006 and down $2,200 in cash games? That explains it all. He's not doing well in cash games and he's doing insanely good in MTTs. Also, after big losing sessions in cash games almost everyone from time to time feels like they should never play cash again, especially if they're predominately a tournament player. He most likely just sat at $25/50 NL stupidly and lost a buy-in and he's feeling horrible, especially since his wife just said she wants to have another baby. One of the notes says to never sit at $25/50 again. He'll almost certainly play cash again, but he wants to stay away from it for a while. One of the notes says "MTTs ONLY FOR DECEMBER." I don't understand your confusion. And no, I don't think that MTTs are better for variance than cash and I never said that or implied it. Some players are definitely just plain better at tourneys than cash, though. Look at Phil Hellmuth for the biggest example.

exactly, watch High Stakes Poker when the poker brat sits down, the word "yum yum" is all they can say, I myself am better at tourny play than cash games, and at this point in my learning of the game I find it hard to seperate the two, sometimes I play a tourny hand in a cash game and pay for it....but I only play 1/2 so it isnt a huge loss.

Nice try at backing out I guess and that could be a legit argument. I'm probably caring to much about that the spikey haired foo' wants to do but it seems you are setting him up to be a one dimentional poker player. Also, would one bad cash session put someone off that bad?

There was nothing to "back out" from obviously and there's no "argument" either -- I'm just stating the clear facts of the situation, as the post-it notes reveal. He's made a TON more money in tourneys than in cash games, so the obvious smart thing to do is to play tourneys more and not play cash, when you're a LOSING player in cash and a HUGE WINNER in tourneys.

Good, who cares -- all that matters is making the most profit possible and he's making tons. I sure wish I was great at ANY form of poker -- if I was I'd stick to that exclusively, or try to force myself to at least, and keep raking in the profits. It's the smart thing to do.

Sure can, and as I said, especially if they're predominately a tourney player and knew that it was a big risk sitting down at a high stakes cash game in the first place, but wanted to take a shot, and failed.

Maybe he (and you) should work on that dimension of your game and then you won't be so touchy. Damn.

You were talking nonsense. You implied that I said MTTs only helps variance and then said "nice try at backing out," which made no sense. And your latest comment also doesn't make sense, for many reasons. I should work on what aspect of my game? I try it all and suck at it all. Corbin tries it all and found something he's great at, so he's trying to stick with that so he can make as much money as possible.

You can't even resist flinging crap on your own forum when someone asks a simple questions. Anger management for Christmas maybe?

Please stop lying. It's disgusting. I flung crap when someone asked a simple question??? I answered your question in MASSIVE DETAIL and was very nice about it, THEN you said "nice try at backing out," which was a stupid, mean thing to say, implying that I was somehow lying or something, who knows, and then you kept repeating even MORE nonsense about the subject that I explained in detail for you many times.

All you had to do was say, "Hey, I was a moron and obviously it's best for Corbin to play the type of game that he actually MAKES money at, as opposed to the type of game he LOSES money at. I didn't notice that post-it note in the strip, thanks for pointing it out to me." But no, you decided to start flinging crap instead, and who knows why -- because you can't admit that you're wrong about anything?

Your explanation is a "backout" for real poker common sense. Despite the myth, I doubt anyone BUT a fictional character could make 80K a year playing only online tournaments of "10K to keep their Pocket 5s rating up". Produce one, and I'll appologize. Just calling somone's argument stupid does not make you right.

Seriously, just turn this into another magna-videogame comic if you are going to skirt the edges of poker. I thought you had something going here.
