I went to a poker evening a couple of weeks back. Five people attended, and I had no idea how good any of them were. I am rubbish at Poker, so expected them all to be far better than me.

As we sat down, four of them pulled out little pieces of paper which told them which hand beats what. I took that to be a very good sign.

Except I still lost, to the only other person who actually knew the rules off by heart. Bah.

lol, that's classic! I miss having a home game so much. Tried to get one going when I lived in Vegas, but for some reason, nobody in Las Vegas wanted to play poker in my apartment. Rolling Eyes I'm trying again where I live now, but it's tougher than I imagined to get together a bunch of grown-ups to play. Well, I guess we're grown-ups. Mid twenties.

I play a home game every saturday night. We dont play for money, I would but my friends dont really have that much so we dont. It is still fun though and it gives me something to look forward to.

my favourite poker story was in a low-limit NL game i played with a bunch of friends from college.

i don't remember the action, but it's really not relevant. at the end of the hand, i flipped over a pair. someone else flips over two pair. this one guy flips his cards over, proudly proclaiming "i have three of a kind!"

the rest of us look at his cards, boggle, and tell him we only see queen high. he points to his cards and goes, "look! i have a club, another club, and a third club!! three of a kind!!"
